Interests: I enjoy long walks in the park, the breeze brushing through my long, flowing red hair as the sun freckles my face.... But seriously, I have many interests. I like setting goals and achieving them. I have this list (for my eyes only) that pretty much covers the things that I want to do and accomplish. The ultimate goal, however, is to bring glory to God. If I don't have that, I don't have anything.
Expertise: College applications and essays... I'm a pro at this point. I also know a lot of random trivia about Napolean Dynamite, SNL, and quantum physics. Lol.

I won't be posting for awhile... I'm too busy living to write it all down!

What a week! Well, picking up where I left off...

Sunday morning I woke up and went to church. We are currently doing a study of the major religions to better understand where people are coming from and to learn more about our own faith and how to defend it. The week before, Rohan had come to speak on Hinduism. I missed it! The roads were icy around our house so we didn't venture out. This week my friend Sophie from HFA came and spoke about Judaism. It was really interesting and it gave me some perspective on how other religions veiw Christianity. This Sunday, I'm bringing my friend Hanya to speak on Islam. She's such a good speaker and I can't wait to hear what she has to say. After church, I went to lunch with some GSSers. Yufei and Satomi were in town, so we ate together at Panera with Aaron, Rosie and her boyfriend Phillip, and my sis Keely. It was so fun getting to see them again! Satomi is going back to Japan this summer and she said we could come visit her. How awesome would that be? Yufei said something about a potential trip to China... I would love to travel before I go off to college. Satomi had some good pictures from the Halloween weekend reunion... we pitched all those tents and never used them... Good times.

Back to the same ole same ole Monday morning. I sent in my TWISTER application... crossing my fingers for that scholarship. I find out on the 12th if I got it or not.

It's late, so my memory is failing me and please disregard any typos. Everything's a blur until Wednesday. I was so ridiculously busy on Wednesday. I had calculus I didn't understand, I was getting ready for a birthday, and I had a paper due Friday, but I couldn't do it Thursday because I was studying for today's Calculus test. Whoa, did you follow that?

Thursday... Happy Birthday Miss Deising! That's right, BIG 18! She's legal. The FCA Leadership breakfast was that morning. I think that God is really going to bless our FCA next year throught the leadership we've selected. I'm glad that we are starting to establish something for next year. I saw Sarah May, who was there with Beech's FCA and I found the group from Portland. We went back to school just in time for Calculus. Differential equations... just the beginning. For lunch, Keely , Meg, Perky, Allison and I went out for lunch with Meg's parents at Las Palmas. It was awesome. We were only a smidge late to Doc Shelton's class and we were just sitting around talking when we got there. In engineering, we redesgined the lid of the bakepan to screw into our insets for easier removal. (Again, you can read more about this when we publish our work and make millions.) After school I came home and ran two miles... getting in that softball shape! Then I showered and went to have dinner with Josh at Belmont and study Calculus. I met his roomate Eric, who seems like a pretty cool guy. Mellow in one word, but cool. I got to see Nathan and Liz and Robyn and Chris while I was there. Such a small world! I can't wait until college...

Today... Calculus was crazy. I think I did ok, but we all know what that means. The suspense of the results of this test will have to continue through the weekend because we find out Monday. This test will make or break me. We did sign up for that wonderful, merciful extra credit lab next week, though. Phew! I had a test in US, too, but I totally rocked WWII, so no sweat. We went to Andrew's house 7th period to test for engineering. Today was a milestone. We did something you will have to read about later, and cut down our baking time to a third of the time. It was awesome! We also were able to conclude the best materials for our design during this testing. It was flippin' awesome! Then it was off to work. I closed with Teri and Nathan tonight. We always have fun goofing off with D. Well, it's been a long night and I've got to wake up in the morning and open the restaurant. Sweet dreams... <== again with the sleepy face

I never thought I'd be so happy to see Robert Fitzgerald.  It's hard going somewhere and not knowing very many people and trying to just be yourself.  We danced for a few songs and it broke the ice for both of us I think.  Before, Nathan and I went to see the Chef's Market crew.  They told us how pretty we were and I gave Dee a hug.  At the dance, I saw like every girl I ever played softball with at Moss Wright growing up.  Blast from the past.  They served dinner at the school.  I had salad, chicken, green beans, potatoes, and chocolate pie.  Then we got our groove on.  There was this guy who constantly kept yelling out how much time was left for the dance.  It was pretty funny.  Overall, the dance was fun, though it was no GSS dance.  Those were awesome.  The Bufing, the dance circles, the middle-school-style slow dancing while catching falling stars, interpretive dancing with Aaron, and whatever it was Stanton was doing in his telephone booth of space.  Good times and good night.  <== sleepy face

Why do I xanga? To procrastinate from other, more important things.

Tuesday was the last entry... so, Wednesday. I went to school. I've decided that senior year second semester is like limbo between heaven and hell. We're all stuck between high school (this, of course, is hell) and college (high school's heavenly afterlife). After school, I did some softball conditioning with two freshmen. I went over some fundamentals to see where they were and they had potential. Coach Rhoden showed up to tell me about our new pitching machine and about starting practice on Tuesday. She isn't allowed to be there, but some guy will be coming to work on our hitting with us. I'm so excited! After that, I went to church and came home.

Thursday we had an FCA leadership meeting. We're meeting in our huddle groups on Tuesday to talk about Eph. 1. Should be a pretty good lesson. We're going to talk about how God used Paul to encourage other Christians and how God uses Christians today to encourage each other. I know that God has put a lot of angels in my life in the form of fellow Chrisitans, and I am thankful for that.

Yesterday, was Friday and I welcomed it with open arms. I had to call in reservations for the leadership breakfast, print out a letter for a scholarhip, arrange a meeting for graduation with Mrs. McKerly on Monday, work on other scholarships, and then do the whole school thing on top of that. After school, I went to work. Jessie and Bret came to see me and I took part of my break with them. They are so sweet! Josh picked me up from work and we took Keely to see Chris. I now have an abundance of conversation hearts, but I'm not complaining.

This morning I woke up and began pushing the scholarhips papers. I have like 24 deadlines this semester and the number keeps growing. It took me an hour just to get everything organized. FAFSA, financial aid applications, and scholarship applications. I'm swimming in them. I've also been taking care of my mom. She's not feeling well today. Tonight, I'm going to Davidson Academy's Winter Formal with my friend Nathan from work. It should be fun. Yufei and Satomi are coming into town tonight, too and I'm so excited. I should be catching them and Aaron for lunch tomorrow. Coker's ditching us for a prom fashion show... Congrats on valedictorian, by the way. Well, now that I've killed some time, I'm gonna go push some more papers and get ready for the formal. Xanga ya later.

Yes, Tuesday... well I guess I can recap the weekend. I went to the Belmont vs. Lipscomb game on Friday with Josh. Belmont won in overtime, so it was a pretty exciting game. It was a nice date and I had fun.

Saturday I went shopping with Keely for club clothes (They are very tasteful, thank you very much.), which never got used due to illness and icy roads. Maybe next week... Honestly, I don't know how comfortable I am with the whole thing. I do think it would be fun to go out dancing with my friends, though. I'm torn.

Sunday Memy (my grandmother) and Aunt Angie came over to celebrate Halston and Angie's birthdays. We spent the afternoon going through pictures and remembering.

Monday was a Monday-- what can I say? I got murdered by another Calculus test... well, I can't say that completely... I did bring my grade up. I went from a lowly 57 to a whopping 58. Wow. The thing that is so annoying about this is that I truly believe that I understand what I'm doing when I walk into that classroom on a test day. It's terrible! We started on our mock-up in engineering. It's coming along nicely.

Today we left school after 6th period to go to Andrew's house and do some testing. For those of you who don't know, our project in engineering is to make the "ultimate bake pan" that will evenly and thoroughly cook a cake in the least amount of time. We baked five cakes, one in a ceramic pan with no cover, one in a ceramic pan with an aluminum cover, one in a ceramic pan with a ceramic cover, one in an aluminum pan with no cover, and one in an aluminum pan with an aluminum cover. ::: deep breath ::: The results were interesting. (You can read all about it when we publish our work and make millions of dollars. ) During baking we had some free time so we raided the kitchen, worked on calculus, and did the robot while wearing ski goggles. Good times. We got out of school to make cakes, I mean, how cool is that? Xanga ya later.
